Sophie Mousel

Born and raised in Luxembourg, Sophie Mousel has very early developed a deep interest for piano and played her first concert with orchestra at the age of ten.

After school, she moved to Paris where she studied French literature at the Sorbonne Paris IV and was admitted to the Classe Libre at the private drama school Cours Florent.

Sophie speaks four languages fluently and so aims an international career. She regularly attends acting workshops in Los Angeles and London.

The Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg has become her second home: she has worked with Yves Beaunesne, Myriam Muller, Laurent Delvert, on many classical plays by Racine, Marivaux, Musset, Tchekhov and some modern ones like Liliom by Ferenc Molnar and Elena after Andreï Zviaguintsev’s movie, which will go on tour in 2023-24.

One of her biggest passions still remains cinema. She receives her first award in 2021, Best Female Actress at the Luxembourgish Film Award for her performance in the Netflix police series Capitani.
In France she has worked with Isabelle Huppert, Guillaume Canet, Roshdy Zem, Naidra Ayadi, Philippe Lacheau, Oded Ruskin etc.
She recently played Juliette in the French Japonese Apple TV show Drops of God, and was cast as female lead in the western The Last Ashes / Läif a Séil, by Loïc Tanson, which has it’s Canadien Premiere during the Cinemania festival in Montreal and during the Spain festival in Sitges.
Sophie is now preparing a female leading role in an international feature film, which will shoot in 2024, playing the lover of the French shooting star Niels Schneider.
