When Vanessa is injured during the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks, she begins a research into proxy conflict in Afghanistan in the 80s and begins to blend the two realities as she goes through a state sponsored memory study on trauma in France.
Who is the victim or who is the enemy becomes a matter of time and place, and Vanessa gradually sees herself as both.
