DORPIE portrays Lana, a grassroots leader in a South African town where femicide is commonplace. Lana’s activities range widely, from picking up female addicts under a bridge to negotiating funding with the deputy mayor. The government, meanwhile, is doing nothing to help her, and the pressure on Lana inevitably increases.
