The Last Image

Despite her youth and success, a Berlin-based painter decides not to undergo treatment when diagnosed with cancer. She heads to Lake Balaton, the last place she remembers having happy memories. She sets off to reunite with a childhood friend and his family, whom she plans to name as her heir. As the story progresses, we find that she is looking for some thread of happiness to cling to, giving her a reason to change her mind, choosing treatment and life. She lands in the middle of a completely dysfunctional family, learning that if there’s any meaning in life, she won’t find it there, except an unexpected friendship with the family’s teenage daughter.
