Synopsis
The 6-part documentary drama series tells the stories of six historical figures from Germany, Israel, France, the Soviet Union and the USA. It follows the lives, longings, dreams and fears of these people, beginning with the Second World War and ending in the 1950s, the period when the world was divided into East and West.
The high-end series simultaneously interweaves personal dramas with major historical events and makes them tangible – it is radically subjective and transnational. Visually, the series succeeds in seamlessly assembling drama and original archive material.
