Stay Live

The club and music scene is acutely threatened in its existence by the corona pandemic. ZDFkultur is making a statement with the new concert series "Stay Live": The focus of each episode - to be seen from Thursday, 18 March 2021, at https://zdf.de/kultur - is on newcomers and up-and-coming bands, which the format introduces and gives them a proverbial stage.

In three legendary clubs, the "SO36" in Berlin, the "Uebel & Gefährlich" in Hamburg and the "UT Connewitz" in Leipzig, these musicians receive prominent artists with whom they have a special relationship. When the newcomers meet their godmothers and godfathers, exclusive gigs and personal conversations at eye level are created - about music, the scene and life as an artist (in times of the corona pandemic and beyond).

The concert and documentary format "Stay Live" is a joint production with the non-profit funding organisation "Initiative Musik" and is part of #BEATCovid. In the future, ZDF will bundle its special programming efforts in the area of culture under this hashtag. In order to provide additional support for the bands involved in the current exceptional situation, ZDF is giving them the concerts filmed for "Stay Live" free of charge for further use.
