Juliette (40), a self-confident and elegant realtor, stands in front of a very run-down apartment building and struggles to enter the building. At the entrance of the building stands the caretaker, Ludmilla (60), who is already eyeing Juliette suspiciously. Suddenly she receives a call from her boss Hartmut (55), who threatens to destroy Juliette's career.
Juliette decides to invite herself to the caretaker's apartment for a coffee. There she finds a room as if from another time: old wallpaper from a distant socialist past, antique furniture with traces of use and a chemistry lab run by two whimsical young ladies (Gothild, 30, and Fiena, 25, Ludmilla's daughters). The room bathes in a warm light, dimmed only by the laboratory in the far corner of the room.
A tempo-filled dialogue ensues:
Juliette learns that Berlin caretaker Ludmilla (60), is her mother, who gave her up for adoption 40 years ago. Her sisters secretly put liquid LSD in her coffee to calm her down.
In the trip, Juliette finds out that Ludmilla is a wanted murderer. When suddenly her boss appears to dismiss Juliette now finally, the world is completely out of joint.
