SARAH BLUM AFC, is a French-German director of photography, based in Paris.
She was formed in directing and cinematography at the Belgian film school INSAS in Brussels.
She works mostly in Art House, on French and International Coproductions, fiction and documentary features.
She begins shooting feature fiction in 2019 with the French-German coproduction UN CAFE SANS MUSIQUE C EST RARE A PARIS directed by Joanna Pauline Maier. Her second work as DOP on a feature fiction is LOST COUNTRY directed by Serbian-French Vladimir Perisic in 2023. This International coproduction was shot in Belgrad in S16mm film and was priced with the "Rising Star Award" at Semaine de la Critique in Cannes 2023 for its main actor Jovan Ginic.
In documentary feature, she worked with Alice Diop (Nous, winner of Best Film Encounters and Best Documentary at Berlinale 2021), Ayat Najafi (No Land´s Song, multi-awarded and released in March 2016/ France and Germany), Nurith Aviv, Jérôme de Missolz (Kid's Today, 2011, Director´s Fortnight in Cannes
2011, released in 2011/France), and newcomers.
Since 2007 she continues shooting short films with emerging filmmakers in
France and abroad (Alice Diop, Randa Maroufi, Riikka Kuoppala, Joao Viana, Camille Fleury, ...). She also worked on short films of established artists such as photographer Fouad Elkhoury. These films were selected in international festivals,
