Nachbarn (Neighbours)
Everybody has got neighbours. Neighbours live door-to-door, house-to-house or garden-to-garden. Depending on personal definitions you also could say that every person you meet during a day is a neighbour. Certainly it is an issue which is relevant and full of fascination for us all. Just think about your own neighbours... Cologne-based documentary film production Broadview TV gave me the opportunity to realize a campaign for supporting a photobook about neighbourhood released in October 2009 by Deutsche Reihenhaus AG in cooperation with Rendel & Spitz. What in the beginning was planned to be an EPK for german television soon developed into a project of 11 independent portraits of 11 different designs for living. For myself the most thrilling thing was to be confronted with media professionals and trying to sneak behind their facades during the interview sessions. DOP Christopher Häring has shot amazingly intelligent pictures which made the editing a delight.
