The era of "Swinging Addis" was the first peak of Ethiopian music in the 1960s. It was brutally killed by a Marxist military regime. When the terror ended in 1987, only few of the musicians who had fled Ethiopia managed to return. It took until the 21st century for a new generation to fill the void. This is there story.
JAMMING ADDIS accompanies them through the long days and electrifying nights of Addis Ababa. Here, joyfully yet aware of their traditions and heritage, these young Ethiopians are about to transform their country from inside. JAMMING ADDIS is a cinematic jam-session that takes the audience on a surprising journey into contemporary Ethiopia.
