Joint Russian and Byelorussian historical film The Brest Fortress(Brestskaya Krepost) about the heroic defense of the fortress during the first days of the war will go on screen on June 22, 2010.
According to the producer general of the film Igor Ugolnikov, the film directed by Alexander Kott is a documentary reconstruction of historic events.
The film features Russian and Byelorussian actors: Yevgeni Tsyganov, Andrei Merzlikin, Pavel Derevyanko, Aleksandr Korshunov, Elena Dubrovskaya, Ilya Mozgovoi, and others. Along with professional actors, almost all the dwellers of the town of Brest took part in the filming.The film producer hopes that modern “refined youth” will see the film and understand “what out grandfathers were like”.
The Brest Fortress with the budget of 225 million rubles was filmed by the Central Partnership, Russia, and the film studio Belarusfilm, Byelorussia.
