Expectations were flying high before the start of this year’s Bike Transalp. Team Centurion Vaude 1 consisting of German title defenders Markus Kaufmann and Jochen Kaess were bound to make history, aiming for their 4th consecutive win at Europe’s most prestigious MTB stage race.
However, they faced some tough luck from the very beginning. Their Austrian team mates Daniel Geismayr and Hermann Pernsteiner took their chance and claimed the victory battling their way through the strongest field in the history of the race.
BIKE TRANSALP - CALL OF THE MOUNTAINS gives an insight into the daily race routines of the pro teams and also features some of the international participants.
