My 14th September

It's an old wives' summer day in the French capital. The young Russian immigrant, Elena, is confronted with a life changing decision. She starts her morning with a cigarette, a glass of champagne, and Mendelssohn's Hochzeitsmarsch blaring from her living room speakers. What follows is a pilgrimage through the streets of Paris, interesting characters, and everyday dialogue. All this in an interesting outfit. Will she overcome her fear? Need she overcome her fear? Is marriage, like so many other societal conventions, simply an outdated institution? Being forced to make a promise she may possibly not be able to keep, Elena retreats to the roof of a tall building. Her proceeding jump, physical and metaphorical, lands her in a world of pure bliss.
