Robert (58), an experienced university chaplain with a big heart and passion for his job, but an equally strong sense of cynicism is confronted with Laura (29), who comes straight from the theological seminary, where she has just finished her PhD. She is very intelligent and humorous, but a little over-motivated.*
Two generations, two characters working together in the Chaplain’s office at the University. Between the two characters and theological approaches there is an interesting tension that is intensified by the exceptional circumstances of their job.
They are dealing with young people who come to the office with their problems. Some voluntarily, others because they are required to attend counseling. Their issues, spiritual concerns and search for values and meaning challenge the pastors. Together they try to help the young people.
They struggle with each other and the with situations like unwanted pregnancies, addictions, broken hearts, motorcycle accidents, failure in school, bullying/abuse, etc. Through these stories and situations, and their response to them, the viewer will get an inviting glimpse of the biblical view on topics such as, the existence of God, meaning of life, forgiveness, sexuality, state of the dead, family, salvation, sabbath, end of the world and many more topics.
