W - Der Killer von Flanders Field

Retired Belgian homicide inspector Witse refused to go out with a whimper, and now he's back with a bang. Witse's niece has been savagely murdered, and she's not the only young woman to meet such a fate in the Belgian heartland. The timing couldn't be worse, since the world is about to focus on the town for the centennial festivities commemorating the WWI campaign in Belgium. While dignitaries from the world over are coming to "Flanders Fields," the last thing the local police need is a serial killer on the loose, leaving bodies at the British Cemetery. When it becomes clear that the killer is contacting his victims via the Internet, Witse volunteers to play the role of a young woman looking for a romantic encounter. The British, meanwhile, are inadvertently disrupting operation through their less than discreet presence. When the killer realizes that he's been led on by the police, he promises that they will pay for this with a murder that hits particularly close to home.
