About Rad Kaim

Rad’s dream of being an actor started when he was a boy. His father responsibly steered him towards a study of architecture, but the dream of acting never left him. He applied for, and won, a place at the prestigious National Academy of Drama in Krakow. He quit his architecture degree to train to be an actor, delighted that he had been given a chance to begin to make his dream a reality.

Upon graduation from the National Academy of Drama, where he received his acting degree, his career took off and he was lucky enough to appear in numerous theatre productions, films and television programmes. He has been fortunate to work with many established European theatre directors including Krystian Lupa, Piotr Cieplak and Rimas Tuminas.

In 2005 he took part in Odin Theatre workshops and travelled to New York to work with Robert Wilson. He also performed in New York City in the winter of 2005 playing RED and Cock, for which he received excellent reviews in the New York Times and Art Magazine.

Since arriving in the UK, Rad’s theatre work has included playing the lead part in “Guernica” staged at the Oval House Theatre and in 2007 he performed in the Royal Exchange Theatre production of “The Tempest” directed by Greg Hersov and starring Pete Postlethwaite.

Rad’s film work began in Poland where he appeared in “Mr. Virgin” directed by P.Angerman and for which he was voted Poland’s Best Newcomer in 2004 (in Poland’s equivalent of the Oscars). Living in England over the last few years, he has been privileged to work with Ken Loach on his feature film “These Times” and played a featured role in David Cronenberg’s film “Eastern Promises” as well as “Harry Brown” directed by Daniel Barber.

He also recently worked in television on “Taggart”, “The Bill” and “Dr.Who”. He played guest leads in the TV series “Waking the Dead” and “Dalziel and Pascoe”, both for the BBC.

Currently residing in London, Rad works in both the London and Los Angeles.
