Alexandra Sell’s documentary ICE AGE – THE DREAM BEGINS is about the world’s enthusiasm for figure skating – even at an old age! For „best-agers“, ice skating is a last and better-late-than-never chance to revive childhood dreams. And to do this, contenders accept all conditions! But why?
For one year, ICE AGE – THE DREAM BEGINS accompanies elderly sportsmen and women from all round the world at their local ice rinks and in unstinting training before their great and rousing performances to hundreds of spectators at the World Championship of Hobby Figure Skating. A joyous documentary that points a middle finger at old age, illness and one’s own mortality.
