An alpine village, 34 nations. 652 women and men take their life out onto the ice.
Alexandra Sell’s documentary ICE AGED is about the world’s enthusiasm for figure skating – even at an old age! For „best-agers“, ice skating is a last and better-late-than-never chance to revive childhood dreams. And to do this, contenders accept all conditions! But why?
For one year, ICE AGED accompanies elderly sportsmen and women from all round the world at their local ice rinks and in unstinting training before their great and rousing performances to hundreds of spectators at the World Championship of Hobby Figure Skating. A joyous documentary that points a middle finger at old age, illness and one’s own mortality.
