Veronika Reichard Bakri
Born in 1980, was already involved in improvisation and performance (Circus Calibastra Stuttgart) while still at school and worked in various circus and street theater formats in Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
In 2006 she completed her acting studies at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich, where her lessons with Paco Gonzalez (Flöz family) and Carlos Traffic (Absurdes Theater) had a particularly formative effect.
For family reasons, she then emigrated to Israel for several years, where she worked in the UNHCR Jerusalem, in the Negev desert and in a kibbutz, and with her job through various film projects (including "Teza/Morgentau", FF Venice 2008 ) remained connected.
From 2008-2009 she was a member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Tübingen, and was then engaged in the ensemble of the Staatstheater Hannover, where she began to realize her own directing projects in addition to her work as an actress,
("Salaam Shalom, we came to organize your peace-a tale about German confusion", winner of the Berliner Theatertreffen der Jugend 2012), the initial spark for her work in the staging area.
From 2012 her path led her back to the Middle East, and while she continued to work as a freelance actress at the Hanover State Theater, among other things, she took over the direction of the Israeli-Palestinian circus project "Galilee Circus", worked as a dramaturge in various Palestinian film projects (e.g. The Last Projectionist /AT in post production, The Salt Fisherman 2014, Wajd 2015), and initiated his own projects ("Herrgottsbscheißerle"/Stadt Tübingen, "Rosalind" music video and others).
She worked as a theater pedagogue for several Stuttgart school projects, as well as in the directing team of the Stuttgart cultural initiative "Labyrinth", worked as a workshop lecturer for modern clown acting in various institutions and completed the BuT theater pedagogy training at the Theaterpädagogikzentrum BW in 2019.
She then took over the artistic direction of the Stuttgart youth circus "Circus Calibastra", where she also works as a lecturer for clowning, performance and juggling and directs both program formats.
She is a co-founder and director of the interdisciplinary "MP collective" ("Götterdämmerung" 2022, Puppentheater Stuttgart/Wagenhallen Stuttgart), and a member of PACT (Performance Art Collective Tübingen).
She is particularly interested in the interface between theatre, clowning and contemporary circus.
