Brief synopsis
Salvo (Salvo Ficarra) lives in Palermo, a thief of religious art pieces and a convinced atheist. Father Valentino (Valentino Picone) lives in Roccadimezzo Sicula, he is a priest fascinated by the iconic power of the nativity scene. These two worlds, so very far apart from each other, are about to meet or rather, collide on the eve of the Christmas holidays: by magic, or for whatever reason, Salvo and Valentino find themselves in a real-life nativity scene. It’s Palestine of the year zero a few days before the birth of Jesus…
The two of them will have to brave a fantastic voyage into a faraway world. It will lead them, above all else, to rediscover themselves and their limits but also to find the courage in the face of great danger. Danger in the form of Herod, (Massimo Popolizio) who is incensed by the news of the birth of the King of Kings, so they will end up risking their own lives in order to save little Jesus.
