Brief synopsis
A fantasy town in the early Middle Ages. Jakob, the son of the carter's wife Jette, is wrestling with death. The herbalist Aurora consults the runes about his fate and sees in a vision the destruction of her home town by hostile barbarians. On her mission to warn the town’s baron, the strictly hierarchical society and the Inquisition place ever greater obstacles in her path and seal her fate.
