Brief synopsis
It is often dark in Ukraine this winter. It is usually only car headlights that illuminate the streets of the capital Kyiv. As Russia has been shelling power plants for months, people have to freeze and live without water and electricity ... Vlada has lost the love of her life in the war. Her partner was killed near the embattled town of Bachmut. Because she is at a loss for words, she writes music to counter the pain ... ARD correspondent Vassili Golod tells stories from people's lives, stories from the war. He embarks on a journey through Ukraine, which also takes him to his native city of Kharkiv on the Ukrainian railroad.
