Mirko Beutler

I have lived in England since 1994 and graduated from the London Institute with a BA in Film and Television in 1998.
After college, I worked my way up through the camera department, initially as Clapper-loader and then Focus-puller, before establishing myself as a camera operator and director of photography around 2002.
I have recently moved back to Germany and while still occasionally working in Britain, I’m increasingly looking for new contacts and opportunities in Berlin and the surrounding area.

Today as a DOP - I enjoy the various creative and technical challenges, different projects bring up. Creating a cinematic world is always a fascinating process for me.
I love the moment, when you can sense, that all the planning and everyone's creative input are coming together in front of the camera.

My experience ranges from numerous short films, music videos, commercials to documentaries and animated films, art performance videos to feature films.
I’ve worked with 16 and 35mm since my studies and later with a variety of digital video formats and cameras. My own camera and lighting equipment is often sufficient for interviews or simple short films.
In London, I still have good connections to rental companies, in Berlin I'm building connections now.

I enjoy working in a professional and friendly environment, where the crew achieves a great film together.
