Brief synopsis
"Kick it like a girl"
is a documentary series about girls from the Ruhr region who share one thing: a passion for soccer and the dream of becoming a professional soccer player.
They all play in an Essen club that is dedicated to promoting female talent. The coaches teach young girls not to let their potential - in sports as in other areas of life - go to waste, to build up their self-confidence and to give themselves the confidence to perform at their best.
"KICK IT LIKE A GIRL" is a series about self-assertion. It shows how important it is to encourage girls in such a way that they can develop their talents. At the same time, the series aims to raise the visibility of women's soccer - representative of many other areas in society where women's achievements are not appreciated to the same extent as those of men.
