About Frei Audio Tonstudio e.U.

FREI AUDIO recording studio in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee offers services in the areas of film sound, music and audio production, sound design and sound reinforcement. Our studio is Dolby Atmos ready and is equipped with the latest technology for post-production as well as music production. The field of activity spans sound for film and video, musicproduction and -composition as well as live sound for theater and major events. Under our label Frei Audio Records we release selected productions that our heart is attached to, from artists we believe in.
In 2023 we were awarded the Austrian Film Prize for best sound design by the Academy of Austrian Film (RUBIKON).

Company historyThe recording studio Frei Audio was founded by Andreas Frei in 2001 in the center of the provincial capital Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.
From the beginning, the focus was on the production of high-quality sound productions for film, TV and media formats. Advertising and music production were and are also part of the portfolio. The spacious premises in an inner-city old building palace radiate a cozy working atmosphere and support the creative work of employees and customers.
Andreas Frei was trained as a sound engineer at the Vienna Academy of Music and has been in the profession for a good 35 years. The studio employs four people and serves Austrian productions as well as clients from all over Europe.
