Filmgeschichten - Von Single Bells zum Palmenbaum

Following in the footsteps of "Single Bells" and "O Palmenbaum", director and cinematographer Xaver Schwarzenberger invites us to his home and tells us about the search for snow, the parallels between fiction and reality and how a typhoon made filming in Mauritius difficult. Main actor Erwin Steinhauer visits the farmhouse where the "Moor family" lived back then. In addition, he meets film daughter "Sissi" - Mariella Schaller - for the first time in more than 20 years and visits her at her current place of residence in Gmunden on Lake Traunsee. Actor and film son Thomas Thurgar goes in search of the Christmas tree forest where filming took place back then - "My God, if Papale could still see this! Three hundred bamboo trees, all planted by myself." And SFX specialist Willi Neuner shows how to make a Christmas tree burst into flames in a way fit for television. In addition, Rudi Czettel (production design), Angelika Brendinger (props), Christine Ludwig (costume design assistance) and Erika Zizala (make-up) tell exciting, interesting and funny film stories about the filming.
