Brief synopsis
Germany's largest lake supplies 4.5 million people with clean drinking water every day, making it the most important drinking water reservoir in Europe. The Lake Constance region is also an important refuge for endangered animals and plants. However, economics, tourism and climate change are putting pressure on the sensitive natural environment.
