Set against a backdrop of management through stress and terror, of the multiple aberrations of the world of work, of the injustices and discriminations of the job recruitment process which determines the only profile of the perfect "acceptable" candidate, Article 23 tells the stories of three lives that cross paths and clash. Cécile,a widow and mother of two children in her forties, is laid off. Cédric is a headhunter and a perfect little soldier of the "machine" who inexorably moves up the ladder. Alice is a young graduate who abandons human resources for humanitarian work because she refuses to be part of the system.
Cécile, who initially seemed condemned, finds herself center stage and we witness Cédric's long descent into hell after abusing his power for mercenary reasons, destroyed by a system that sacrifices those who are "not economically pertinent" so as to maintain an elite.
Utlimately, the film offers another gaze on the "victim/victimizer" duality through the narrative of this story mainly inspired by a real facts, where all the protagonists find themselves abused by a terrifying and implacable system in which nobody now controls anything.
