Aliaksandr Tsymbaliuk,
35 years old, was born and raised in Pinsk, Belarus.
He is a cinematographer and director best known for his documentary film Koka. He graduated from the Cinematography Department at the renowned Lodz Film School in Poland, where he honed his distinctive visual storytelling style and deep understanding of human emotions.
His documentary film Koka has been widely acclaimed for its intimate storytelling and compelling visuals. The film received the Special Mention of the Youth Jury at the prestigious Visions du Réel festival, the Best Medium-Length Documentary Award at the Viewpoint Documentary Film Festival, the Best Short Documentary Award at both the Doc.Berlin festivals, a nomination at the Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival 2024, the Grand Prix — the Golden Wreath Megisti — at the Beyond Borders Kastellorizo International Film Festival, and was nominated at Camerimage, one of the most renowned cinematography festivals in the world. Additionally, it earned the Special Award for Best Cinematography at the 62nd Krakow Film Festival.
