Due to his father's traumatic suicide, 19-year-old Oskar has distressing daydreams, turning him emotionally blunt. Escaping a confrontation with his true feelings and his professional perspective, Oskar spends a lot of time swimming and floating in water. Meanwhile Oskar and his mother Kathrin fail to come to terms with their grief, his best friend Lasse is about to move to a new city which increases Oskar's fear of being left alone.
