Tony and Jockey are driving across France with some thirty luminous garden dwarfs - the make-believe symbols of a certain suburban France - in the back of their van. Tony is a younger tagger whose dream is to one day "tag" a Concorde jet or the Eiffel Tower. Jockey's ambitions are humbler, he longs to see snow. But their trip is cut short when Tony is overcome by the irresistable urge to give up the van and the dwarfs to return to Toulouse and Gloria, the nurse he'd met the night before and fallen madly in love with. That night Tony and Jockey steal a car. The only problem is that an old man is sleeping in the back seat. Leon Marcel is a traveler who criss-crosses France with a pack on his back and a rusty old lüger with two bullets in the chamber. Who are the bullets for ? What is he looking for ?
