Panoramis Paramount Paranormal

PANORAMIS PARAMOUNT PARANORMAL ist der Titel eines filmischen Essays, der sich anhand eines konkreten Ortes mit Filmgeschichte und auch mit der Geschichte einiger Filme beschäftigt. Diese Ausstellung zeigt einen Prolog, der aus einem kurzen Trailer, einer 25-minütigen Vorversion des geplanten Langfilms sowie aus Fotografien und Archivmaterialien besteht. Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts stehen die im Jahr 1913 gegründeten und 1971 einem Großbrand zum Opfer gefallenen Filmstudios von St. Maurice in der Nähe von Paris, und die Wohnhausanlage Residence Le Panoramis, die kurz nach dem Brand auf dem ehemaligen Gelände der Studios errichtet wurde.

This filmic essay deals with a former film studio of which no trace has remained. This studio had been erected in Saint-Maurice near Paris, where today one finds a modern housing complex called "Le Panoramis" which was constructed in the 1970s. Images and soundtracks of films formerly shot in Saint-Maurice resurface there, while two actresses (and five birds) compete in a casting for a role in a movie that will never be shot; film characters and forgotten story lines suddenly haunt the reality of everyday life, thereby dislocating the time of an ineffable story that cannot be told. What about the future? The future belongs to the ghosts.
