Cluster Elektromobilität Süd-West - Image

The leading-edge cluster Electric Mobility South-West connects more than 80 partners from science and industry. In addition to universities, research institutions and large enterprises from the regions of Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Stuttgart and Ulm, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises are active within the cluster. Across and beyond the different technical disciplines, the cluster partners - under the management of the state agency for electric mobility e-mobil BW - research the four strategic fields of innovation: vehicles, energy, information and communication technology (ICT) and production. They also research new concepts for ecological and sustainable and - at the same time - economical and competitive electric mobility and combine their know-how. For example, they develop tools for analysing power consumption for efficient range analysis and route planning systems in electric vehicles. Efficient connections to the power grid by way of inductive charging systems are also researched within the cluster. To achieve a reduction in production costs of the components for electric mobility, its focus is on the optimisation of battery or electric motor production facilities. The cluster partners have also made it their goal to make Baden-Württemberg one of the leading suppliers of innovative mobility solutions world-wide in the future.
