ReSense is an examination of synthetic synaesthesia and anaesthesia of place, and is also a collaboration with international commercial perfumer Louise Crouch. It utilises a selection of synthetic fragrances relating synaesthetically to the colours of green.
Flap explores authentic body odour and new fields of emotional and relational expression. Flap is a collaboration that began at the Banff Centre and was fuelled by Raewyn’s research on the human plume (human scent). Fifty jars, each attached to a motor and a fan, contain the scent of New Zealanders and Canadians. A motorized lid on each jar opens and closes the lid, creating a rhythm and releasing the scent into the air.
