In New Delhi, Gareth, a Welsh backpacker, is desperate to explore the exciting new world of India. Struggling with the heat and an upset stomach, he’s conscious he still has a long way to go in terms of ticking off all the travel guide recommendations. Feeling pressure to experience the authentic India and live up to his somewhat wax-lyrical emails home, Gareth recognises that he only has one hope: he has to get invited into a local’s home. His desire to experience the ‘Indian way of life’ makes him anything but the open minded traveller he so desperately wants to portray. Narrowly expecting the people he meets to fit into neat stereotyped boxes, Navashen’s open and honest friendship shows him a better way.
