The film tells the story of Ben Wallis, a twenty-something accountant, living with his long-term girlfriend, Beth. Ben has become unsatisfied with his workaday existence, the majority of his life being spent at work or visiting his terminally ill grandfather, a man with whom he feels little genuine affection for. It is the death of Ben’s grandfather which sets into motion a series of events which enable him to re-evaluate his life’s choices and make a change for the better.
Although taking the form of a romantic drama, the film deals more with Ben’s period of self-exploration; the decisions he has made, his responsibility to those close to him, and his ongoing search for some form of meaning to his life.
