Nada, 23, arrives in Lebanon, the country she was torn from as a child due to the civil war. She hopes to rediscover her roots and set right the upturned destiny of the little girl she once was.
But she feels like a foreigner in her own country. Refusing to conform to reality, Nada decides to write her own story. She seeks refuge in the one place where her disfigured past still exists camping out in the ruins of her family home. The house and garden are haunted by the presence of her grandfather who disappeared without trace during the war.
Guided by her memories, fears and fantasies, Nada gradually convinces herself that he was killed in the house. She now has a mission : to find his corpse and give him a decent burial place. The twists and turns of this quest for the truth will become her path to growing up and becoming herself.
