The Porta Palazzo marketplace is the stage for a deep social change which is marked by the daily conflict between different cultures who are concentrated in the quarter that surrounds this spot. Porta Palazzo is not only a place of commercial exchange, is a place where different cultures get in touch with each other.
Rachid, a twelve-year-old boy, born in Italy but son of Moroccan parents grew up at the heart of this world.
The change in society that surrounds Rachid is reflected in the change inside the boy. He´s passing from childhood to adolescence. It´s the moment when he´s taking consciousness of his own “being”, the dualism between his two cultures becomes stronger and evident to himself.

When Aid-El-Kebir, the traditional Muslim feast of sacrifice, comes up, Rachid finds himself on a symbolic divergence: his origin, his family and Italian reality, in this case represented by his friend Antoni
