Kurzinhalt

You won’t find these queers in the “Gay & Lesbian Travelers” section of Lonely Planet. Filmmaker Elliat Graney-Saucke and crew take us from Berlin to Belgrade to Barcelona to meet the radical queers of Europe. Through candid interviews with squatters, anarchists, artists, activists, genderqueers, queens, bears and other like-minded Euros, Travel Queeries puts an exciting international lens on queer fringe culture. Graney-Saucke also records historic moments in European queer history. Using digital video mixed with Super8, this transnational documentary maintains an accessible home movie style, allowing audiences to really get to know the speakers and their stories. With a strong indie-music soundtrack, captivating stop-animation segments and a stunning collection of visual art and photographs from queer European artists, the film succeeds in creating a unique and upbeat visual landscape against which these stories are told.
