Denys Darahan was born in Ukrain and is living in Germany since 1998. He studied editing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and received his diploma in 2016 for the award-winning graduation film "24 Weeks”.
During his studies and afterwards, fictional films with non-actors and large documentary parts made up the focus of his work.
In 2019 he was awarded the main prize at the Edimotion film editing festival for his work on the feature film "Oray".
He has been a lecturer in film montage since 2020 and has given lectures at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf and was one of the mentors for the 8th edition of Beirut Talents.
