Brave New Work GmbH

Ever since our production company was founded over 20 years ago, we have been passionate about making films that will be seen not only in Germany, but around the world. Accordingly, our company, based in Hamburg and Cologne, primarily launches internationally oriented projects that are socially and politically relevant, but also meet an artistic standard.

brave new work produces feature films, documentaries and animated films for cinema and television. In addition to sophisticated arthouse productions, a current focus is on the production of animated films and series for an adult audience.

Together with sister companies Little Dream Entertainment (production) and Red Parrot Studios (animation/VFX), brave new work has been forming technical and organizational synergies since 2014 to ensure the best possible quality of our mainly independently developed projects. Own and licensed productions are exploited in cinemay and in the home entertainment sector via Little Dream Pictures, the distribution arm of the group founded in 2016.

The productions of brave new work are represented at the most important international film festivals - including Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, Annecy, Montreal and IDFA - and have won numerous awards, including the Max Ophüls Prize, the Studio Hamburg Prize, the Gerd Ruge Prize and the German Animation Screenplay Award. In 2021, brave new work received the ARD Program Award for particularly successful productions in the field of documentaries and a nomination for the German Documentary Film Award (for LITTLE GERMANS). In 2022, a nomination for the German Film Award followed in the category ""Best Film Score"" (for MOONBOUND).
