Birgit Kniep-Gentis

It all started with the black box - theatre ! `93 saw me complete my studies and post-graduate studies in costume and production design at the University of Fine Art, Berlin. During the following 3 years my focus was on theatre and opera: 3 own theatre productions in Berlin; and assistig for internationally renown costume and stage designers at the opera in Zürich, at the state opera in Berlin and at the Theatre du Vidi, Lausanne / Theatre Bobigny, Paris, with the stage design and director superstar Bob Wilson;
My own directing experiences in '95/'96 finally led me to put my full attention into production design for feature film and advertising.....
Visually ambitious, content rich scripts, a director's vision excite me - be it an ad or a movie script.
