Dwarf Long Nose

Jakob is twelve years old when he falls into the clutches of the spiteful fairy Kräuterweis. For seven years she lets the boy cook for herself and her guests with the help of a magical cookbook. As a parting gift, she turns him into a dwarf with a hunchback and an ugly nose. His mother does not recognise Jacob. Even the magician Wetterbock is unable to help him. Desperate, the dwarf remembers his abilities and gets a job as a cook for the duke of the country. In the kitchen of the choleric gourmet, Jacob demonstrates his remarkable culinary skills on a daily basis, until he is required to prepare the pâté Souzeraine. Jakob has never heard of such a pâté. But fate is kind: it gives him a companion who has been as badly treated by the fairy Kräuterweis as he has been. And the secret of the pie seems to be connected to his transformation into a dwarf - everything now depends on finding a very special ingredient: the herb Nies-Mit-Lust.
