    Brief synopsis

Ex-prisoner, CARL BYRNE, early 40s, is trying to make a go of his newfound freedom – with ambitions to start his own gardening business, befriending his neighbours, and giving some TLC to his hard won flat. Having been out a year, Carl has finally summoned the courage try online dating, through which he encounters ABBY. In her thirties, the ebullient Abby seems like quite a catch for Carl until it transpires that her real interest lies in robbing his flat, under the malign influence of her husband, WESLEY. When their date takes a turn for the worse, Abby winds up the victim of Carl’s misdirected rage. The following day, unable to remember his actions from the night before, Carl must dispose of Abby’s body before the pending arrival of his long-estranged mother, AILEEN. An insidious influence from Carl’s past, and a largely contributing factor to his uncertain future. But will Aileen’s arrival signal a discovery of Carl’s new crime, or lead to something far more sinister?
