Gabriele Schelle

Gabriele Schelle (director, author) and Elena Messner (writer, cultural scientist) will hold working discussions with experts from various fields of AI research who will accompany our research process on climate change and AI for the 3rd part of the "Trilogy on Artificial Intelligence". How can we implement AI on stage? Which scientific-theoretical AI concepts inspire us? What do the thinkers say? What ethical and activist-feminist positions on AI are there? How trustworthy is AI? Does AI act morally? How and with what data is AI trained? What is the ecological footprint of AI itself? What resources does it need?

Sometime in the future. Human emotions have been programmed into the service AIs to increase customer satisfaction. In a supermarket where a hyper-intelligent AI works, irritating incidents occur. The play makes cheeky use of horror elements and poses controversial questions about how to deal with the hybrid beings created by humans: humanoid robots, cyborgs, artificial intelligences. Can a machine think? Does it have consciousness? This socio-critical science fiction comedy explores strategies of neo-capitalist exploitation and plays with ideas of possible liberation from it.
