Christina Scherrer

CHRISTINA SCHERRER , actress/singer

Born and raised in a tiny village in upper Austria. She studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Since 2009 she works for theatre/film and TV in Austria, Germany and Italy. Besides that, she writes & co-produces solo-performances in cooperation with several musicians and/or actors.

In 2010 she was given the scholarship for Dramatic Arts of the BmUKK Vienna for her second solo-show. In 2013 she won the Next-Generation-Artist-Award YOUNGSTAR. In 2015 the live-action-short-movie „Everything will be okay" was awarded with the Max-Ophüls-Preis and nominated for the OSCAR in this category. In 2016 she was selected to participate in the masterclass of THEODOROS TERZOPULOS at Troubleyn Laboratorium in Antwerp hosted by Jan Fabre. In February 2016 she starred for the first time in the famous TV-series TATORT (Episode: SCHOCK). In 2017 she was awarded with the cultural prize of the city Rohrbach-Berg. In the same year she started to work with Nestroy-prize awarded director Sabine Mitterecker for the play "Shadows” by Elfriede Jelinek.

She worked for Schauspielhaus Wien, Schauspielhaus Graz, Orpheum Graz, Theater Drachengasse, Werk-X Wien, Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen (I), Dschungel Wien, progetto semiserio (collaborating with Wiener Festwochen), Theater.Punkt, Ensemble unpop, Nezzeit and Theater Nestroyhof Hamakom. Since 2020 she is part of the main cast of the Viennese TATORT. She plays criminal assistant Meret Schande alongside the well-known detectives Moritz and Bibi.

Furthermore she got to star in the TV-Series DER BERGDOKTOR, WALKING ON SUNSHINE and BLIND ERMITTELT.
