Anne Ratte-Polle

ANNE RATTE-POLLE is a German film and theatre actress.

From the very beginning of her career, Anne has performed in many successful films and theatre plays and has been recognized for her outstanding portrayals of headstrong and complex women. She is known for her vigorous, sensitive yet humorous way of playing.

Her first leading film role in NIGHTSONGS directed by Romuald Karmakar received a lot of recognition and premiered at the Berlin International Filmfestival in 2004. Since then, she returned with several films to the festival including Denis Côtes drama UN ÉTÉ COMME ÇA in the Berlinale competition in 2022.

Anne has received numerous accolades, her brilliant performance in I WAS, I AM, I WILL BE earned her in 2020 the Bavarian Film Prize and a nomination for the German Film Award for Best Actress in a leading role.
(She won Best Actress in a leading role at the Santa Fé Dark Frame Festival for SYBILLE ( 2014) and furthermore Best Performance at the Female Filmmakers Festival Berlin for her role as Ina in the drama ALLE WOLLEN GELIEBT WERDEN (2022). The film will be released in theaters on March 8 - the International Women’s Day.)

Currently Anne can be seen in the critically acclaimed Sci-Fi Mystery Drama DARK (Netflix), which gave her further international recognition. In addition in the international TV miniseries SHADOWPLAY (Netflix and Canal+) and the drama series FUNERAL FOR A DOG (Sky).

In 2023, the series TWO SIDES OF THE ABYSS will be released on RTL+ and has been picked for the Berlinale Series Market Selected.
