Born in 1983 in Munich. Didn’t study anything. Started acting at the Age of 15 in 1999. Since 2005 he became active behind the camera first as a production assistant and driver, then unit- and location manager and eventually first A.D. He then made a big leap with his first, improvised low budget feature, PAPA GOLD (2011): it was nominated for the Max-Ophüls-Award and the First Steps Award and won, amongst others, the Association of German Film Critics Award at the Achtung Berlin festival. He followed it in 2013 with another low budget feature, KAPTN OSKAR, which took the top award at the Oldenburg Film Festival and its lead actress Martina Schöne-Radunski taking home the Seymour Cassel Award. His 3rd feature UGLY & BLIND is a collaboration with ZDF and premiered at the International Filmfest Munich where it won the FIPRESCI International Critics Award and later the Ensemble Award in Oldenburg. In the following years Lass directed 3 Episodes for the Teenage-Series DRUCK, which enjoys great success among young audiences online and he is currently writing his next feature and shooting an anthology serial drama. He lives and works in Berlin.
