Dis grows up well protected in her village with her parents and siblings. From an early age she is taught that she is something special, the fulfillment of a prophecy. When her parents are murdered and her village is razed to the ground, she should be led to the place of prophecy of her ancestors with the help of the shaman Vala and the warrior Erik in order to lead them to her destiny. On the journey they are attacked by the warrior Blár, who wants to use Dis and her fate for himself and forcibly kidnaps Dis. She escapes her kidnapper manages and a brutal chase through the northern woods begins, where the prophecy comes true in the end.
