Jonas Deichmann - Triathlon Around the World

Multiple world record holder and extreme athlete Jonas Deichmann completes probably the most spectacular and longest triathlon of all time, from Munich to Munich around the world: running, swimming, cycling. We accompany Jonas on his adventure lasting around 14 months and observe up close as he completes 120 times the Ironman distance, which becomes a liminal experience for him and inspires people all over the world. This is a modern-day tale about a man who sets off to explore the world, overcome boundaries and follow his dreams. He has to rely mainly on himself, and things don’t always go to plan. Jonas begins his journey in the midst of the pandemic, which presents him with unforeseen challenges. Suddenly major stages of his route are closed overnight, and crossing borders becomes an almost impossible feat. News of the “crazy German” and his journey spreads around the world. What happens then exceeds all expectations: Jonas becomes a phenomenon, a symbol of an attitude to life: the Jonas effect!
